About Montessori Hut

Hi, thank you for visiting Montessori Hut!

Here I would love to introduce myself.  I had my first career in finance in London and Hong Kong, and after my son was born I discovered the Montessori method and fell in love.  I have since gained AMI 0-3 Diploma, AMI 3-6 Diploma (the comprehensive training for the lead teachers) and AMI 6-12 Assistant Teacher certificate with the Maria Montessori Institute in London.  I have also worked as supporting teacher in a lovely Montessori 3-6 environment in north London.

☘️ Visiting AMI headquarter in Amsterdam and paying tribute in Maria Montessori's study

☘️ Visiting Heutink in Netherland (parent company of Nienhuis, the company that Maria Montessori collaborated with to create many materials).

☘️AMI 3-6 Diploma course in the Maria Montessori Institute

☘️Collecting all different shapes of leaves as part of the AMI 3-6 Diploma

Both of my children are in one of the lovely schools under Maria Montessori Institute, one in the elementary (6-9 class) and one in children's house (3-6 class).

☘️AMI 0-3 Course requires 250 hours of observations of children 0-3 (that's about 7 hours of observation per week for the year between the two summer modules!).
☘️Here my daughter was "volunteering" to be observed in a nido when she was 1.
☘️And later when she was about 2 she was "volunteering" again in an Infant Community
☘️My son visiting and working in the Maria Montessori 3-6 training room, where we practise with all the materials.

Why am I creating Montessori Hut?  It is both for Montessori families and schools.

When I first moved back to London to start my Montessori training, with a 3 and 1 year old, I really wanted to set up a Montessori home environment.  From my training I know there's so much one can do at home to support the child, without needing to break the bank, but I struggled to find the right sized tools designed with simplicity, quality and functionality to support the children.  I know how frustrating it is when a child keen on sewing cannot independently cut the thread simply because the scissors are not designed for their little hands!   So this is why I am creating Montessori Hut to curate a selection of essential and well loved Montessori materials that will support children's learning and independence.

Montessori Hut is for schools as well.  I know it takes a lot, financially and physically, to create a beautiful environment for children.  I want to help by making the materials as affordable as possible.  We are an authorized distributor of the full range of Nienhuis Nienhuis logo materials and we hope to offer them at a discount.  Check school orders page to see more details.
